Sparse Movie Merchandising Scene

Memorial Day weekend traditionally would have been the blockbuster kickoff of the summer movie season. But many big studio releases, including James Bond, Wonder Woman and a Marvel film, have been postponed.

Subsequently, there are not many thematic movie sponsorships in-market right now, as you would normally expect this time of year.

Universal Pictures ‘ Trolls, which released direct to consumers on demand, has some nice promotional merchandising placements with Walmart.

The Scooby-Doo reboot ‘Scoob!’ from Warner Bros. was also released on premium video on demand, and has an amazing merchandising train display also in Walmart.

So beyond these two films, there is obviously not much fanfare around cinematic sponsorships. Perhaps as people feel safe going to movie theaters we will see more tie-ins and merchandising promotions in-store?

So, what movies are you watching?
