Chick-Fil-A Launches New Sauces

Chick-fil-A is dipping into retail. Pun intended.

The chain announced today that it will pilot sales of its signature sauces in all Florida Publix, Target, Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores starting in April.

At those nearly 1,800 combined retail locations, customers will be able to purchase 16-ounce bottles of the brand’s most popular sauces–Chick-fil-A and Polynesian–starting at $3.49.

Quick-service brands extending into retail is nothing new, as evidenced by White Castle Sliders in the frozen aisle, Taco Bell’s “Reaper Ranch” in the chip aisle, or Starbucks’ Frappuccino bottled coffee drinks in the checkout lanes. The retail channel has provided a material revenue channel for these brands, in addition to more access and exposure.
