Creating a Destination in the Beer Aisle

Lion, the Australian distributor for Stone & Wood, partnered with ID POP to launch its new Citrus Radler with a clear objective: create an unmistakable in-store presence that would cut through a crowded beer aisle and drive trial.

The solution was a bold, four-way freestanding display within a 1m x 1m footprint, rolled out across the top 20 highest-performing stores. Designed to be instantly recognizable, the display leveraged a striking lemon tree canopy to clearly communicate the product’s citrus credentials while also supporting visibility of the core Pacific Ale range.

A key focus was ensuring the display performed as well operationally as it did visually. The four-sided design delivered true 360-degree shopability, maximizing exposure regardless of placement within store. Structurally, the unit was engineered for durability, with reinforced shelving and discreet support bars to safely carry full product loads throughout the campaign. Precision in print registration ensured the lemon tree graphic read as a cohesive, high-impact visual from every angle.

Ease of execution was equally critical. The display was designed for slim flat-pack distribution, tool-free assembly, and supported by clear step-by-step video installation guides—enabling fast, consistent rollout while minimizing in-store labor.

Sustainability considerations were embedded throughout. The unit was predominantly constructed from cardboard, with removable metal supports and shelf clips to allow for straightforward separation and recycling at end of life.

The result was a strong retail outcome, with stores featuring the display achieving a +14% uplift in volume versus those without. The campaign successfully combined standout creative, structural integrity, and operational efficiency to deliver a scalable, high-performing retail solution—recognized within the industry through Shop! ANZ, where it picked up a Bronze Award in the Best of 2025 Liquor Displays.
