Mountain Dew was invented in the 1940s by Tennessee beverage bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman who created it as a lemon-lime mixer for hard liquor. The brand and production rights were acquired by the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1964, which allowed for wider distribution across the United States.
Today, Mountain Dew is ranked as the sixth-largest soda brand in the US boasting 13 different flavors. Back in 2024, PepsiCo took a classic approach to reinventing the brand, shifting from its early “hillbilly” roots to a focus on its heritage, outdoors, and refreshing, adventurous spirit for both Gen Z and loyal fans.
Mountain Dew was recently spotted promoting their Baja Blast soda with this stacker display in Supermarkets across the US. Perched upon two faux boulders, the jeep-themed display doubles down on the brands outdoor vibe with tremendous branding which included two kayaks fastened to the roof. The colorful graphics and structural detail brought this promotion to life in-store.
