This past February 2026, Proctor & Gamble brand Tide rolled out its next evolution in the laundry detergent category. Designed for cold-water washing, Tide evo contains six layers of concentrated cleaning ingredients spun into tens of thousands of tiny detergent fibers. The launch is significant in the laundry care industry which is valued at nearly $25 billion.
“Tide evo represents over ten years of innovation and product development, and showcases Tide’s journey of reinvention every decade,” said Marchoe Northern, P&G’s president of Fabric Care. “From soap to detergent, powder to liquid, then PODs, and now, laundry tiles – the first-of-its-kind in the industry and the next significant leap into the future for both the company and consumers.”
P&G is banking on their new product to be bigger than their original Tide Pods and has invested $100 million in a Louisiana facility to produce the product.

To help create a retail presence, Tide rolled out this Pallet display which was spotted at Walmart. The huge display held lots of pods and was designed to resemble a washing machine. The ‘real magic’ in this display is the plastic-covered, round window that explains how the new pods work.
