Quip Just Sold Its One-Millionth Toothbrush

Quip End Cap Display

Launched in 2015 using an online subscription-based model like Dollar Shave Club, Quip is the latest internet startup to hit the shelves of a major retailer and connect with a broader audience. After successful launches with Harry’s and Casper, Target is the first brick-and-mortar retailer to carry Quip’s electric brushes across the chain and online.

“Target’s younger and more affluent guests offer these new digital brands the right audience to expand into physical retail,” said Wendy Liebmann, chief executive officer of consultants WSL Strategic Retail. “That, and the fact that Target is back on track, doing a good job building brands again.”

To help lift sales in the oral category, Target and Quip developed this bathroom-themed end cap display. Nice simple details such as the floor mat, cactus plant, sink and mirror provide just enough visuals and easy-to-understand  messaging which meld with the numerous product facings. A live toothbrush tethered to the sink helps shoppers experience the brush’s small size firsthand.
